Randomata

I have so much to catch up on. My Bloglines account is looking at about 2,000 unread posts, and I’m afraid of even THINKING about tackling all the unread mail I have to go through. I’m temporarily without net access at the house, and work has been crazy so there’s very little time to do anything about it while I’m here, so I’m basically pushing everything back until this coming weekend, when I go home to Katy for Easter and my mom’s birthday! (happy birthday, mom!)

Those of you who are waiting on the new Eyegruve titles to debut, fear not, for they will be coming soon (possibly as soon as this coming weekend, depending upon how much I can catch up on).

So, some random stuff while I’m waiting for the end of the work day to come:

  • There’s a really great interview with the founders of YouTube at Gizmodo. See, I have ideas like this all the time, but I don’t have the coding knowledge to make it a reality, and by the time I’m ready to move on it, someone else has already done me one better.
  • I have no idea where all these people are coming from, but we’re up to 1,280 downloads of Much Ado About Nothing. The crazy thing is that I haven’t done any type of marketing for it in at least two weeks, but we’re still getting about 60-70 new downloads a day. I realize that 1,280 people isn’t a lot of people for most bands, but for a truly indie band that hasn’t played a show in four years, it’s a huge number.
  • Tara’s Pinko Marketing non-campaign is picking up steam. I’ve applied a lot of what Tara talks to to my own personal marketing for Eyegruve and The Favorites, and I can attest that non-marketing and community building is a really good way to go about doing things.
