I, for one, am excited that Mozilla will be making a mobile browser. For starters, the browser on my Nokia phone is craptastic. Granted, it’s no iPhone, but it’s beyond terrible. I’d rather have a browser that allows me to browse across the whole page and have to scan than the current one, which compresses everything into a 1″ column and forces me to scroll down endlessly in order to read stuff. It also takes forever to load a page, which is fine when I’m sitting on the bus in transit to work, but not so fine when I actually need to find something on the web while using my phone.

I think that in two years, the majority of smart phones released will have a touch screen, and they’ll have a nice browser just like Safari in the iPhone, where you can pan and scan throughout the actual website and not a condensed version made for cheap phones like mine. That’s awesome. But I’m probably still going to be rocking the cheap Nokia for quite some time in the foreseeable future, and I’d love to have a browser that doesn’t make me want to throw my phone against the wall and walk into the Apple store to drop my life savings on a phone that you just HAVE to have but don’t really need.
