Another big fight for the November 15th show in Las Vegas featuring Couture/Lesnar is about to be finalized.
My “connected” friend that spilled the news about Couture and Lesnar early last week (long before anyone else had it) tells me today that they’re about to finalize another big match for UFC 91. It’ll be Wanderlei Silva taking on Rampage Jackson in a battle of 205 pound elites.
The two men have met twice before while fighting in PRIDE, and Silva came away with the win both times. Silva scored a TKO in the first fight and a KO in the second.
Update: Ariel Helwani over at MMARated posts the same thing. Of course, they add “exclusive” to it to make you think they’re the first people to report it, despite the fact that I reported it long before. Also, the Houston Chronicle had it before. But if you want to call it an “exclusive”, be my guest.
Obviously, a lot of this will be predicated on how Jackson’s legal situation shapes up, but I’m told that the fight should be finalized and announced soon.
